Calling the whole world at cheap rates is a lot easier than you think:

1. Fill and send the registration form.
In just a couple of minutes you can fill the simple registration form. All the information about you, your company, and all the calls you make will be kept strictly confidential, as per portuguese laws and requirements.

Immediately after sending your form, you'll receive an automatic confirmation message, so you be make sure we received it. Please wait for a second message from us, this time including the login and password you must use to configure your equipment. Fill the registration form now!

 
2. Select your phone.
While waiting for our answer, why not choose a suitable phone for you ? In our certified equipment list you will certainly find an adequate phone, compatible with your needs, and your budget.

Some examples:

  • The cheapest alternative is the free CounterPath X-Lite software phone, which you can find here, and a simple headset. Just like any software phone, you must turn on the computer and use the headset anytime you wish to make or receive calls.

  • A quality USB phone, like the VoIPVoice CyberPhone K, in our certified equipment list, allows you to avoid the harassment of placing and removing the headset each time you want to make or receive a call, specially if you're not always around the computer. You will still need a software based IP phone.

  • If you want to make or receive calls but the computer is not always on, then perhaps you should buy an hardware based IP phone, like the Polycom 320. You use it just like a traditional phone.

  • For the restless it's possible to use the VoIP service around the home, or the office, as long as you have a wireless WiFi or DECT network. Your best choice is an wireless phone.

3. Configure the phone.
By now you probably received an email from us, with your login, password, and all other necessary information to configure the VoIP equipment. If you selected the free CounterPath X-Lite software phone, above, and you're running the Windows or Mac OS X operative systems, then the phone's configuration will be so easy that you'll be talking with your family and friends in a few minutes.

If you selected another equipment, don't worry: if you're buying it from us it will probably be sent already configured, and ready to use. You may have to read the manual, though. If you did not buy it from us please contact our support services, we'll do our best.

So, how can you install the X-Lite software phone ? Easy, just follow the instructions for the Windows operative system, or the Mac OS X version.

 
4. Say hi to your family and friends, for a few cents!
It's time to make the first call, your hands are shaking and you feel curious. Will this really work ? Will the calls have the same quality as traditional ones ? ;)

Before anything else, please call 555. It's an echo test, which allows you to check if your phone can really reach our servers. You should hear something like:


"Three.. two.. one.. welcome! You have reached a test number! You will now hear your own voice, in an echo test...


After that, anything you say will be repeated back to you, allowing you confirm the audio flows both ways, and adjust microphone and speaker volumes. To finish, just hangup, or wait a few seconds in silence till you hear:


The echo test has been completed, you sound cute! Goodbye!"


If you managed to complete the echo test, try calling to a phone near you, preferably landline (it's cheaper). Check and correct the microphone and speaker volumes again, and confirm the absence of echo, (which usually happens because the speaker is too loud, so the other party's voice reaches your microphone and is sent backwards).

You can call landline and mobile phones, both in Portugal and abroad, charged by our rate list. You can call other 3GNTW VoIP users, or any SIP based open VoIP operator in the world, (Skype does not use SIP, and is not open because is does not allow it's member to make or receive calls from other VoIP networks). Open SIP VoIP operators, (like ineen, Free World Dialup, SIPphone, TerraCall and Iptel.org, just to name a few), provide their users SIP URL's, (phone addresses), through which they can receive calls from other SIP users.

Your SIP address is based in the username you received, that is, username@sip.3gnt.net. You can reach our technical support for free using the suporte@3gnt.net SIP URL.

Call your family, call your friends, your clients and suppliers! Call us and tell us you're happy, or call us to say you want your money back. But call! ;)

 
5. Check your call detail record, and your remaining credit.
Use the email address and password you filled in the registration form to access the control panel.

In the panel you'll find, among other information, your call detail record, (updated everytime you finish a call), your remaining credit, the invoices for all payments you made and instructions on how to recharge your account. You can also change both your's as well as your company's details.

 
6. Add credit whenever you like.
Everytime you make a call using our VoIP service we will charge you by the minute, with a minimum cost of 1 Euro cent. The rate list does not change with the hours of the day, or the season of the year. The are no discounts, promotions, packages, installation or monthly fees, or any other tricks. You are just billed by the minute, with a minimum cost of 1 Euro cent.

We know your credit will last a long time, but eventually you may want to increase it. Just access the control panel and choose one of the available payment methods.

Due to fraud control, online payment methods (like PayPal or credit card debt) are only availably after we receive your identification papers. You can find instructions about this inside the control panel. 

 

 
Prices in Euro cents per minute, with 60/60 billing (per minute). Add VAT where applicable. Minimum call cost: 1 Euro cent. Prices can change without warning. All prices are subject to confirmation.
